Book Excerpt: (Rated "R")
"...you will realize that our country does not lack for warriors or armaments. Nor do we lack for physical technology or support elements, or supply chains. We do, however, in our haughtiness, lack practical application of a centuries old warfare technology – Our enemy does not. They now have many valued secrets because of this, and are continuing to get them as I write this. I have listed some present day headlines in the back of this book."
Chapter One (partial)
Arranging a Meeting with Jesus
North Carolina, USA—Fire Trail
The principle on which to manage an army is to set up one standard of courage which all must reach. ~ Sun Tzu
My eyes closed in a quick prayer as I bargained with God for my life. Tears, blood, and shards of bone streamed down my face on their own accord as I struggled to see, and then destroy the asshole who'd just killed Jerry. It was Jerry’s blood and bone, my tears. He was a close friend.
I solemnly swore, “I’ll get you.”
When you’re devastated emotionally, or in overwhelming physical pain, your body cries on its own without the emotion or sensation of crying. Tears automatically stream from your eyes - You can’t control it - It just happens. It’s shocking and disconcerting. Nobody ever talks about it.
Memories of Jerry flashed past in nanoseconds. When he got married... the drunken, but happy bachelor party... his marriage... his first kid and him strutting like a peacock... our families going to church together.... I snapped back to present. Stay alert!
Time began its usual trick in survival mode. My vision grew crystal clear as the world crept into a slowed motion. Then I spotted the asshole. He was perfectly camouflaged. He must have moved. I’m trained to spot motion.
